Donuts
# INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup milk, lukewarm (about 100°F)°
- 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast, or instant yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar, plus 1 tsp
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- Oil Spray, Coconut oil works best
#### FOR THE GLAZE
- 6 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 Tbsp hot water, or as needed
#INSTRUCTIONS
1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, gently stir together lukewarm milk, 1 tsp of sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy (If nothing happens your milk was too hot or the yeast is too old, so start over).
2. Add sugar, salt, egg, melted butter and 2 cups of flour to the milk mixture. Mix on low speed until combined, then with the mixer running add the remaining cup of flour slowly, until the dough no longer sticks to the bowl. Increase speed to medium-low and knead for 5 minutes, until the dough is elastic and smooth.
3. Place the dough into a greased bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place until doubled. Dough is ready if you make a dent with your finger and the indention remains.
4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, punch it down and gently roll out to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out 10-12 donuts using a 3-inch round cutter and a 1-inch round cutter to remove center.
5. Transfer donuts and donut holes to lightly floured parchment paper and cover loosely with greased plastic wrap. Let donuts rise until doubled in volume, about 30 minutes. Preheat Air Fryer to 350F.
6. Spray Air Fryer basket with oil spray, carefully transfer donuts to Air Fryer basket in a single layer. Spray donuts with oil spray and cook at 350F until golden brown, about 4 minutes. Repeat with remaining donuts and holes.
7. While the donuts are in the Air Fryer, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in hot water one tablespoon at a time until the icing is somewhat thin, but not watery. Set aside.
8. Dip hot donuts and donut holes in the glaze using to forks to submerge them. Place on a wire rack set over a rimmed baking sheet to allow excess glaze to drip off. Let sit until glaze hardens, about 10 minutes.
#### NOTES
- Make sure the milk is not hotter than 115 degrees F. Using hot liquid will kill the yeast.
- If you don’t have an instant read thermometer, drizzle a few drops of the warmed up milk onto the inside of your wrist. It should feel warm. If it feels hot the yeast will die off, if it feels cold it will remain dormant.

Onion Rings
# INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt, divided
- 1/2 cup buttermilk, see tips above for making your own
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 large yellow sweet onion, sliced 1/2-inch thick and separated into rings
- Oil Spray, optional
# INSTRUCTIONS
1. You need 4 shallow bowls or deep plates. In the first one combine flour, paprika, and ½ tsp salt. In the second combine buttermilk (or milk and vinegar/lemon juice) and egg, then add ¼ cup of the flour mixture from the first bowl. In the third combine panko breadcrumbs, ½ tsp salt and olive oil with a fork, until the oil is evenly distributed. Put half of the panko in a fourth bowl so you can switch to the second part after the first got sticky.
2. Pat dry the onion rings with paper towels to remove excessive moisture. Using a fork, dredge the onion rings in the flour mixture, drop them in the buttermilk mixture and then dredge them in the panko mixture. (TIP: Freeze the breaded onion rings for 15 minutes on a baking sheet, this helps the panko mixture to stick better.)
3. Spray Air Fryer Basket with oil spray. Place onion rings in a single layer in the Air Fryer basket. You can place smaller rings inside bigger rings if necessary, just make sure there is space between them.
4. Cook at 400°F until golden brown and crispy, about 11-15 minutes. Spray with some cooking spray after about 6 minutes. You don't need to turn the onion rings.
5. Carefully lift out the onion rings with a cookie spatula or fork and serve.
#### NOTES
- Make sure to use sweet onions for this recipe! White and yellow onions don't work well with the breading.
- This recipe is messy but well worth the effort. Read all my tips before starting!
- If you don’t have panko breadcrumbs you could also use normal breadcrumbs but the result might not be as crispy.
- Divide the panko breadcrumb mixture in two so you can switch to the second batch after the first gets sticky.
- Use a fork and not your hands to coat the onion rings.
- If you don’t have buttermilk, you can easily make your own by adding 1 Tbsp of vinegar or lemon/lime juice to a ½ cup of milk.
- The cook time depends on your Air Fryer model. Keep an eye on them!
- You don’t need to turn the onion rings during the cooking process! Don't shake the basket or the breading will fall off!
- Be careful when lifting the onion rings out of the basket! I recommend using a cookie spatula or fork to lift them out.

Pull Apart Cheese Garlic Bread
Air Fryer Pull Apart Cheese Garlic Bread is a quick and easy recipe that can be made with your Nuwave, Power Air Fryer, or oven. You can make fried frozen garlic French bread using store bought or even Texas toast. Pair this bread with pizza or your favorite Italian dish!
# Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter or ghee (healthier alternative to butter)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 loaf sourdough bread
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese You can also use cubed cheese, but I prefer shredded.
# Instructions
1. Melt the butter in a small bowl in the microwave for about 15-30 seconds.
2. Add olive oil, garlic, parsley, Italian Seasoning, salt and pepper to the butter and stir.
3. Place the bread down flat, horizontally. Cut the bread using a serrated bread knife diagonally, about 2/3rds of the way through the bread, without cutting through the bread. Avoid the edges of the bread (about 1 inch from the corners). Turn the bread around and make diagonal cuts the other way to create small diamond shapes.
4. Load the garlic olive oil butter into the cracks and crevices throughout the bread. I used a cooking brush.
5. Next, add the cheese into each of the cracks. You can use shredded cheese or cubed. Cubed cheese is a lot easier to stuff into the bread, but I prefer to use shredded because it melts easier. If using shredded you can try stuffing the cheese into the bread with a butter knife.
6. Place the bread in the air fryer. Cook on 350 degrees for 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
6. Cool before serving.
# Notes
Air Fryer Garlic Bread Tips:
- Measure and test your bread out first to be sure it will fit your air fryer. If the bread is too large you can trim it down some.
- You can use any bread that you like, just be sure it fits your air fryer.
- Be careful not to slice totally through the bread. If you notice a portion was sliced down too far, you can use a toothpick to hold the bread together.
- If you would like to have a bunch of pull apart areas of the bread, create a lot of slices in the bread, closer together. For large pull apart areas, make less slices in the bread.
- Feel free to add more cheese if you want more!
